Screens and blinds packages for new homes

Building in Coomera, Pimpama or another northern Gold Coast estate? We measure every door and window in one visit before handover, then fit security doors, window screens, fly screens and blinds in matching colours, ideally in the week you get the keys. One package, one written quote and one team.

What goes into a package.

Every package is built around your plans and how you want to live in the house. Most four-bedroom new builds include all five of these, chosen room by room at one measure.

Plans and window schedule

Price it before you sign off.

Send us your plans and window schedule and we will price a package from them, so you can budget for screens and blinds alongside the build. This is also the time to ask your builder for blocking in the ceiling where blinds will sit, and for power points if you want hardwired motors.

Four to six weeks out

Measure once the windows are in.

Screens and blinds are measured to the installed frames, not the plans. We arrange access with your builder or site supervisor, measure every opening in one visit and confirm the quote. Booking four to six weeks out gives time to make everything for handover week.

The week you get the keys

Fitted before you move in.

Most builders do not allow trades on site before settlement, so we book the install for the days after you get the keys and before the removalist arrives. The doors lock, the screens are on and the bedroom blinds are up for the first night.

Already living there

It is never too late.

If you have already moved in with builder-grade fly screens and no blinds, we measure and quote the whole house the same way. Many owners start with security doors and bedroom blinds, then add window screens and the alfresco later from the same quote.

Matching colours across every stage

One colour across the house

Doors, window screens and outdoor blind frames are powder coated in one colour, so the facade looks finished.

Security doors

Child-safe upstairs

Upstairs bedroom windows are screened to the NCC openable-window rule, so they can stay open at night.

Child-safe screens

Motors planned early

Hardwired blind motors need cable before the plasterboard goes up. Battery motors can be added any time.

Motorised blinds

Body corporate estates

Some estates set colours and styles for screens. We check the design guidelines and match what is approved.

Approval questions to ask

Standards a new home should meet.

A new home has to meet the National Construction Code, and the screens on it should meet the same Australian Standards as any security product. Three come up on almost every new build we quote.

How the standards work

AS 5039

Doors and screens that are tested

Every security door and window screen in a package is tested to AS 5039 for knife, impact and pull, and fitted to AS 5040, so it is a security screen in fact rather than in name.

NCC

Upstairs bedroom windows

Where a bedroom floor is 2 m or more above the ground outside and the sill is below 1.7 m, the openable window must open no more than 125 mm or be fitted with a screen that resists a 250 N push.

AS 3959

Estates on the bushfire edge

Some estates in Upper Coomera and the hinterland are bushfire-prone and built to a BAL rating. We read your BAL report and fit ember-rated mesh where it is needed.

One key, one colour.

Every security door in a package is keyed alike, so one key opens the front, laundry and patio doors.

We match the powder coat to your window frames, so doors, window screens, fly screens and outdoor blind frames all read as one set on the facade. Blind fabrics are chosen room by room at the measure, with bottom rails and brackets to suit.

Price

What a package costs.

Every package is priced from your plans and your choices. As a guide, a typical package for a four-bedroom new build sits between $6,500 and $11,000 installed. Four things move it most.

01

Number of openings

More doors and windows mean more screens and blinds.

02

Mesh or infill

Stainless mesh throughout costs more than a mix with fly screens.

03

Blinds and motors

Motorised and double roller blinds add the most to the blinds total.

04

Outdoor blinds

A zip track alfresco is the largest single item in many packages.

See all questions

When should I book screens and blinds for a new build?

Send us your plans as early as you like for a price. Book the measure four to six weeks before handover, once the windows are installed, so everything is made in time to fit in the week you get the keys.

Can you measure before handover?

Usually, yes. We arrange access with your builder or site supervisor once the windows and doors are in. Some builders only allow access at set times, so we work around their schedule.

Can you install before settlement?

Most builders do not allow trades on site before settlement, so we plan the install for the days after you get the keys. If your builder allows earlier access, we can fit before you move in.

Why not take the builder’s screens and blinds?

You can, and some are fine. Builder packages often use standard fly screens and basic blinds that are not tested security products. Ours are made to measure, tested to AS 5039 where they are security screens, and carry a written warranty schedule.

Do upstairs windows need child-safe screens?

The NCC openable-window rule applies to new homes. Where a bedroom floor is 2 m or more above the ground and the sill is below 1.7 m, the window must be restricted to 125 mm or screened. Your builder may fit restrictors, and a screen lets the window open fully.

Can I spread the package over time?

Yes. We quote the whole house once and you can fit it in stages, often security doors and bedroom blinds first, then window screens and the alfresco. The colours and keys stay matched.

Do you work with estate design guidelines?

Yes. Some estates and body corporates set colours and styles for screens and blinds. Send us the guidelines and we will match an approved option and supply product details for your application.

Should I plan for motorised blinds now?

If you want hardwired motors, yes: the electrician needs to run cable before the plasterboard goes up. Battery motors need no wiring, so they can be added at handover or later.

Move in secure.

Send us your plans or book a free measure before handover. We will price every door, window and blind in one written quote within two business days.
