Screen, door and blind repairs on the Gold Coast

We repair and service security doors, fly screens, window screens and blinds across the northern Gold Coast: worn rollers, sticky locks, sagging closers, torn mesh and snapped cords. Most faults are fixed on the first visit from parts on the van, by the same team that installs them, with a written quote first.

What we repair.

We repair screens and blinds whoever made them, as long as parts are available. Send us a photo first and we will tell you whether it is a repair or a replacement before anyone visits.

Repair or replace?

Torn mesh

Sticky slider

Lock not catching

Blind not rolling

Torn or sagging mesh

Usually a re-mesh.

If the frame is straight and the corners are tight, new mesh in the old frame is the cheaper fix and looks as good as new. If the frame is bent, the corners have split or the screen is the thin roll-formed kind, a new screen is the better buy and we will say so.

Sliders that drag

Usually rollers and a clean.

Most sliding doors that drag have worn rollers or a track packed with sand and grit. We fit new rollers, clean and straighten the track and set the height so the door runs freely and locks again. A badly damaged track can be capped rather than replaced.

Rollers carried for most common doors
Lock and keeper realigned

Locks and closers

Usually an adjustment or a new lock.

A lock that will not catch is often a door that has dropped on its hinges or a keeper that has moved. We adjust the door first. If the lock is worn or corroded by salt, we fit a new one and can key it to match your other doors.

Blinds that stick or drop

Usually a control unit or spring.

A roller blind that slips, sticks or will not stay down usually has a worn control unit, a stretched chain or a tired spring. Those parts can be replaced in the bracket. If the fabric has faded or split, a new blind on the old brackets is often good value.

A service schedule for salt air.

Most of the repairs we see near the coast start as grit and salt. A few minutes of care every few months saves most of them, and we can do the yearly check for you.

Care and maintenance

Every 3 months

Rinse and wipe

Hose the mesh, frames and tracks with fresh water and wipe with mild soapy water. Homes on a canal or the Broadwater do best with a rinse every month or two.

Every 6 months

Clear the tracks

Vacuum the sliding door tracks and the channels of outdoor blinds, and check that the rollers turn without grinding.

Every year

Check the hardware

Check that locks turn smoothly, closers shut the door without slamming and hinges have not dropped. Book a service if anything feels stiff.

Warranty

Repairs come with a warranty too.

Every repair comes with a written note of what we did, the parts we fitted and how long they are covered. If we installed the screen or blind in the first place, the original schedule still applies.

Price

What affects the price.

Most repairs are quoted from a photo before we visit, so you know the cost up front. Re-meshing an existing screen typically sits between $140 and $320. Four things move a repair price most.

01

Parts needed

A new lock or motor costs more than rollers or a chain.

02

Size of the screen

Large doors and stacker panels need more mesh and time.

03

Frame condition

Bent frames and split corners need more work or a new screen.

04

Number of jobs

Several repairs in one visit keep the cost per job down.

See all questions

Do you repair screens and doors you did not install?

Yes, as long as parts are available. We carry rollers, locks, closers and mesh for most common brands. If a part is no longer made, we will tell you before we visit and suggest the closest fix or a replacement.

Is it worth re-meshing or should I replace the screen?

If the frame is straight and the corners are tight, re-meshing is usually the better value. If the frame is bent, the corners have split or the screen is a thin builder-grade frame, a new screen costs a little more and lasts far longer.

Can you upgrade a fly screen to security mesh?

Not in the same frame. Security mesh needs a heavier frame that clamps the mesh and is tested with it to AS 5039. We can replace the fly screen with a tested security screen made to fit the same opening.

Why is my sliding security door hard to open?

Usually worn rollers, a track full of grit, or a door that has dropped out of adjustment. We replace the rollers, clean and straighten the track and reset the height. It is one of the most common repairs we do.

My security door lock is stiff. Can it be fixed?

Often it just needs the door rehung so the bolts line up, plus a clean and a dry lubricant. If salt has corroded the lock body, we fit a new lock and can key it to match your other doors.

Can you fix a roller blind chain?

Yes. We replace snapped or stretched chains and worn control units in the bracket, and fit a wall tensioner so the new chain meets the cord safety standard.

How quickly can you come out?

Most repairs are booked within a week or two. Many are fixed on the first visit from parts on the van. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you when we quote and return to fit it.

Do you offer regular servicing?

Yes. Homes near the water can book a yearly service: we clean tracks, adjust rollers and closers, lubricate locks and check mesh, so small faults are caught before they turn into repairs.

Doors that slide again.

Send us a photo of the fault or book a visit. We will tell you what it needs, what it costs and when we can fix it, usually within two business days.
