About these terms
These terms apply to quotes, orders and installations by Secure Blinds & Screens Pty Ltd (ABN 53 614 287 905, QBCC licence 00000000), and to your use of this website. Your written quote, together with these terms, forms our agreement once you accept it.
Where a job is domestic building work under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991, we give you a written contract that meets those rules, and that contract applies alongside these terms.
Quotes
The measure and quote is free and there is no obligation to go ahead.
Quotes are itemised, in Australian dollars and include GST
A quote is valid for 30 days from the date on it
Prices are based on the measurements and site conditions we saw at the measure
Prices on our website and in our price guide are typical ranges, not quotes
If we find something on installation day that we could not reasonably have seen at the measure, such as a rotten frame or hidden wiring, we will explain the options and agree any change in price with you before doing extra work.
Deposits and payment
Doors, screens and blinds are made to measure for your home, so we ask for a deposit when you accept the quote. The deposit is 20 percent of the contract price, or 10 percent if the contract price is $20,000 or more, in line with the Queensland rules for domestic building contracts.
The balance is due on the day of installation, once the work is complete and you are happy with it. We accept bank transfer and card. Where a large job is installed in stages, the quote sets out a payment for each stage.
Cooling-off and cancelling
If your job is covered by a domestic building contract, you have a cooling-off period of five business days after you receive your signed copy, and you can end the contract in that time by telling us in writing.
After the cooling-off period, once your products have been ordered they are made specifically for your openings and cannot be resold. If you cancel after that point, we may keep the reasonable cost of materials and work already done, and we will show you how it was worked out.
Measure and installation
We confirm your installation date when you accept the quote. Most jobs are installed two to three weeks later. If a supplier delay or the weather affects the date, we will tell you as soon as we know.
To help the day run smoothly, we ask you to:
Give our crew safe access to each opening and clear furniture and blinds from the work area
Let us know about pets, alarms, gate codes and anything unusual about the site
Get any body corporate or owner approval needed before we order
Have someone over 18 at home at the start and end of the install
Colours are matched to the powder coat or fabric range you choose. Small differences in shade between batches, or between a sample and a finished frame, are normal.
Ownership and risk
Products remain ours until they are paid for in full. Responsibility for them passes to you once they are installed at your home.
Warranty and your rights
Our products and installation come with our warranty: 10 years on mesh and frames, 5 years on locks and hardware, and 2 years on workmanship and blind motors. The full details and how to claim are on our warranty page.
Our goods and services also come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Liability
We hold $20 million public liability insurance and take care to protect your home while we work. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by things outside our control, such as storms or work done by others, or for indirect loss such as lost income.
Security doors and screens tested to AS 5039 make a home much harder to break into, but no product can guarantee that a break-in will never happen.
Using this website
The information on this website is general and is not a quote or advice about your particular home. We work to keep it accurate and up to date, but products, standards and prices change.
The words, photos and designs on this website belong to Secure Blinds & Screens or are used with permission. Please do not copy them for commercial use without asking. How we handle information you send through the website is set out in our privacy policy.
Questions and disputes
If something is not right, please talk to us first on 07 5550 4280 or secureblinds@vectorr.com.au. Most issues are sorted with a phone call or a visit. If we cannot agree, you can contact the Queensland Building and Construction Commission or the Office of Fair Trading for help.
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland. We may update them from time to time; the version on this page on the date you accept your quote is the one that applies to your job.
