Indoor blinds on the Gold Coast
We measure, make and install indoor blinds for Gold Coast homes: roller blinds in blockout, light filtering and sunscreen fabrics, double rollers, motorised blinds, venetians and panel glides. Every blind is measured by our team and fitted cord-safe, with a free written quote that can sit alongside your screens.

Types of blinds we install.
Five blind types cover nearly every window in a Gold Coast home. Each is made to measure from fabric samples you choose at the measure, and fitted by our own team.

Double roller

Blockout fabric
Dark rooms for sleeping in.
Blockout fabric stops the light coming through the blind itself, which makes it the standard choice for bedrooms, nurseries and media rooms. A little light will still show around the edges of a roller, so for a truly dark room we fit the blind inside the window reveal and keep the gaps tight.

Light filtering fabric
Soft light, more privacy.
Light filtering fabric lets daylight through as a soft glow while hiding the room from the street. It suits living rooms, kitchens and hallways where you want the house bright but not on show. It is not designed to darken a room, so pair it with blockout in bedrooms.

Sunscreen fabric
Cut the glare, keep the view.
Sunscreen fabric is an open weave that cuts glare and heat while you can still see out, which helps on west-facing windows in a Gold Coast afternoon. During the day it gives some privacy, but at night with the lights on, people outside can see in.

Double roller blinds
Day and night on one bracket.
A double roller pairs a sunscreen blind in front with a blockout behind, on one bracket. You keep the view and cut the glare during the day, then lower the blockout at night. It is the most flexible choice for main bedrooms and rooms that face the street.
Chain control
The standard control. A continuous loop chain is fixed to the wall with a tensioner so it cannot form a loose loop.
Roller blindsSpring control
Pull the bottom rail down and it locks, then a gentle tug lets it rise. No chain, which suits children’s rooms.
Ask about spring rollersBattery motor
A rechargeable motor in the tube, run from a remote or app. No electrician needed, so it suits retrofits.
Motorised blindsHardwired motor
A motor wired to a wall switch or home automation by a licensed electrician. Best planned before plastering.
Motorised blindsBlinds that are safe around children.
Loose blind cords are a known strangulation risk for young children, and Australia has a mandatory safety standard for corded blinds. We fit every corded blind to it, and suggest cordless controls in children’s rooms.
Go cordless with motorised blinds220 mm
No loop a child can reach
Under the mandatory standard, a loose cord or chain must not be able to form a loop of 220 mm or more lower than 1.6 m above the floor.
Tensioners
Fixed to the wall
Every chain-controlled blind we fit has its chain held taut by a tensioner screwed to the wall or frame, and keeps the warning label the standard requires.
Cordless
Nothing to pull at all
Spring rollers and motorised blinds have no cord or chain, which is why we suggest them for nurseries and children’s bedrooms.
Fabrics, brackets and colours.
We bring the fabric books to your measure, so you choose each colour against your walls, floors and window frames rather than from a screen.
Rollers can be fitted inside the window reveal for a neat line or face fitted over the frame to cover more glass and stop light around the edges. Brackets, bottom rails and chains come in colours to suit the fabric, and we match the fabric across a room so every blind sits at the same height when lowered.

What affects the price.
Every blind is made to measure, so the price comes from your windows rather than a catalogue. A roller blind typically sits between $220 and $480 installed, and a motorised roller between $520 and $980. Four things move it most.
01
Size of the window
Wide and tall windows need more fabric and a heavier tube.
02
Fabric
Blockout and premium textures cost more than standard sunscreen.
03
Control
Motors add the most, then spring rollers, then chain.
04
Double or single
A double roller is two blinds on one bracket.

Still weighing it up? Tell us which rooms you are working on and we will suggest a fabric and control for each.
See all questionsBlockout or sunscreen for a bedroom?
Blockout. Sunscreen cuts glare and keeps the view, but light still comes through and people can see in at night. If you want both, a double roller puts a sunscreen and a blockout on one bracket.
Will a blockout blind make the room completely dark?
The fabric stops light, but a little shows around the edges of a roller blind. Fitting the blind inside the reveal with tight side gaps keeps most of it out. For a near-dark room, ask us about a face-fitted blind that overlaps the frame.
Are corded blinds safe with young children?
Every corded blind we fit meets the mandatory standard: the chain is held taut by a tensioner fixed to the wall, so it cannot form a loose loop a child can reach. In nurseries and children’s rooms we suggest spring or motorised blinds, which have no cord at all.
Can you motorise my existing blinds?
Often, yes. If the tube and fabric are in good condition, we can fit a battery motor into many existing roller blinds. We check the tube size and the bracket at the measure and tell you if a new blind is the better option.
Do motorised blinds need an electrician?
Battery motors do not. They recharge from a small cable or solar strip every few months. Hardwired motors run from a wall switch or home automation and need a licensed electrician, so they are best planned before plastering in a new build.
Can I fit blinds behind security screens?
Yes. Security screens sit outside the glass and blinds sit inside, so they work together. We measure both in the same visit so the screen frames and blind brackets do not clash with the window winders.
How do I clean roller blinds?
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on low, and spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not soak the fabric or use solvents. Near the coast, keep windows closed in storms so salt spray does not mark the fabric.
How long do blinds take to make and fit?
Most blinds are made two to three weeks after you accept the quote. Motorised blinds and some fabrics can take a little longer, and we confirm your date when you order. Fitting takes 15 to 30 minutes per blind.
