Security doors on the Gold Coast
We make and install security doors for Gold Coast homes: hinged, sliding, French, stacker and designer entry doors in 316 stainless mesh or perforated aluminium. Every door is measured by our team, tested to AS 5039 and installed to AS 5040, with a 10 year warranty and a free written quote.

Stainless steel mesh
The clearest view we fit.
Woven 316 stainless steel is the strongest and clearest infill we fit. You look straight through it to the garden, the breeze comes through almost untouched, and it stands up to salt air with a rinse every few months.

Perforated aluminium
Strong, private and low upkeep.
A solid aluminium sheet punched with fine holes and powder coated to match your frames. It takes knocks well, will not rust near salt air and softens daytime glare, so the room behind it feels a little more private.

Diamond grille
A sound deterrent on a budget.
A traditional aluminium grille over fly mesh. It deters a casual intruder and keeps insects out at a lower price than mesh, though the pattern is busier to look through and it is not a tested security screen.

Privacy mesh
See out while less is seen in.
Mesh with a one-way effect in daylight. You see the street clearly from the hallway while passers-by see less of the house, which suits front doors and screens that face the footpath or a neighbour.
Stainless steel mesh
316 marine-grade woven mesh. The clearest view and best airflow, and our first choice within a few streets of the water.

Mesh with a one-way effect, so you can see out while passers-by see less in. A good fit for doors that face the street.
Privacy meshBuilt and installed to Australian Standards.
A security door is only as good as the way it is tested and fitted. Three standards cover that, and every door we install is made and fitted to all of them.
How the standards workAS 5039
How the door is made
The standard for security screen doors and window grilles. It sets what the mesh, frame, locks and hinges must be made from and how they must perform.
AS 5040
How the door is fitted
The standard for installing them. It covers the frame, the fixings and the gaps, so a strong door is never let down by a weak fit.
AS 5041
How the door is tested
The test methods behind AS 5039: the impact, knife, jimmy, pull and probe tests a product must pass before it can claim to comply.
Locks, hardware and colours.
Every hinged and sliding door we fit locks at three points as standard: one turn of the key throws three bolts into the frame.
We can key the cylinder alike to your front door so one key opens both, and fit closers that stop the door slamming in a southerly. Frames, hinges and handles are powder coated to match, so the hardware disappears into the door rather than standing out.

Warranty
A warranty you can read.
Every security door comes with a 10 year warranty and a written schedule that says what is covered and for how long. We hand it over on the day we install, with care notes for homes near the water.

The warranty covers faults in materials and workmanship. It does not cover damage from impact, storms or harsh cleaning products, and homes near the water should follow the care notes we leave with the door.

What affects the price.
Every door is made to measure, so the price comes from your opening rather than a catalogue. A single hinged door typically sits between $650 and $1,250 installed. Four things move it most.
01
Size and shape
Taller and wider openings need more mesh and a stiffer frame.
02
Mesh or infill
Stainless mesh costs more than aluminium or diamond grille.
03
Configuration
A French pair or an OXXO slider is more work than a single hinged door.
04
Opening condition
Out-of-square frames and brickwork may need extra packing.

Stacker screens for a canal-front home
“The salt used to eat our old screens. A year on these still look new, and the stackers stay open all afternoon.”

A front door that stays open all morning
“We get the breeze down the whole hallway now and the kids can’t wander out. Fitted in a couple of hours.”

“The builder’s frame was out by a fair bit. They measured twice and the door still runs smoothly.”

Where we install security doors.

See all questionsDo your security doors meet Australian Standards?
The security doors we install are tested to AS 5039 and fitted to AS 5040, which covers the frame, the fixings and the gaps around the door. A fly screen door or a grille that has not been tested is not a security door, however solid it looks. We hand over the paperwork with your door.
Stainless mesh or perforated aluminium for a door?
Stainless mesh gives the clearest view and the best airflow, and 316 grade suits homes near salt water. Perforated aluminium costs a little less, adds daytime privacy and handles knocks well. Both are tested to AS 5039, so the choice comes down to view, light and budget.
Can you fit a security door to my existing frame?
Usually, yes. We fit most hinged doors straight to the existing door frame and most sliders to the existing track. If a frame is out of square or too shallow, we add packing or a sub-frame and explain why before we quote.
Can the lock be keyed alike to my front door?
In most cases, yes. Tell us at the measure and we will match the cylinder so one key opens both doors. Have your current key handy and we will check the profile on the day.
Can you add a pet door to a security door?
We can, but a pet door changes the door’s security rating because it creates an opening a hand can reach through. We will show you where it can go and what that means before you decide. A pet door in a separate fly screen is another option.
How long does a security door take to install?
Most doors are made two to three weeks after you accept the quote, and fitting takes one to three hours per door. We clean up, show you how the lock works and leave you the keys.
What maintenance do security doors need near the coast?
Rinse the mesh and frame with fresh water every few months, wipe out the track and roller channel, and check the closer once a year. Homes close to the Broadwater or a canal do best with a rinse every month or two.
Do I need body corporate approval for a security door?
If you live in a townhouse or unit, the body corporate usually has rules about the colour and style of doors that face common areas. We can supply a written quote, product details and colour information for your application, and match an approved style where one exists.
