Coastal care
Built for salt, with a care plan
Every Jacobs Well job comes with a simple salt-air care schedule. A fresh-water rinse every few months is the best thing you can do to keep mesh, frames and fittings looking new.

Jacobs Well conditions we design for
Jacobs Well sits on the southern end of Moreton Bay, with canals, boat ramps and acreage behind. Salt, wind and insects shape most of our advice here.
01
Salt air from the bay
Homes near the water see salt on every surface. We specify 316 marine-grade stainless mesh, coastal-grade powder coat and stainless fixings so the screens last.
02
Wind off the water
Afternoon sea breezes and summer storms hit waterfront decks hard. Zip track blinds hold their fabric in side channels and are easy to raise when the wind gets up.
03
Midges and mosquitoes
Low-lying land near the mangroves brings midges and mosquitoes at dusk. Fine mesh on doors and windows, and mesh outdoor blinds, make evenings outside bearable.
04
Acreage, sheds and granny flats
Larger blocks often have a granny flat, studio or shed. We can screen secondary buildings on the same visit and the same quote.
05
Weekend and holiday homes
Some Jacobs Well homes sit empty during the week. Security doors and fixed window screens let you leave them locked up with peace of mind, then open everything up when you arrive.
What Jacobs Well customers say
Read our Google reviews“They were upfront that cheaper mesh wouldn’t last this close to the water. Two years on, the stainless is spotless.”
Sandra G. · Jacobs Well · 316 stainless mesh
“Screened the house and the granny flat in one visit. One quote, one install day.”
Phil M. · Jacobs Well · Security doors

Jacobs Well questions
Living close to the water? Call 07 5550 4280 or send us a photo and we will tell you which mesh and frames suit.
Ask us a questionDo I really need 316 stainless this close to the bay?
For homes within sight of the water, we recommend it. 316 marine-grade stainless resists salt corrosion far better than lower grades or aluminium mesh, and a rinse every few months keeps it clean.
How often should I rinse screens near the water?
Every two to three months with fresh water and a soft brush, and more often after a storm or a windy week. We leave a care schedule with every coastal job.
Can you screen a granny flat or studio as well?
Yes. We measure secondary buildings on the same visit and include them on the same quote.
Do outdoor blinds handle the wind off the bay?
Zip track blinds handle wind much better than standard blinds because the fabric is held in side channels. In very strong wind we still recommend raising them.
