Roller blinds
Roller blinds are the simplest way to control light and privacy in a room: one panel of fabric that rolls up out of sight. We make each one to measure in blockout, light-filtering or sunscreen fabric, fit it with our own crew and can measure them in the same visit as your screens.

Why choose roller blinds?
Most rooms need two things from a window covering: light when you want it and privacy or darkness when you do not. Roller blinds do both with very little to look at.
The fabric rolls onto a tube at the top of the window, so when the blind is up you see the window, not the blind. Down, it gives anything from soft, filtered light to full blockout for a bedroom or media room. Roller blinds are easy to clean, suit almost any window shape and work alongside security screens, which sit on the outside of the glass while the blind sits inside. Where a window needs both, a double roller puts a blockout and a sunscreen blind on the same bracket.

Sunscreen

Blockout fabric
Dark rooms at any hour.
A coated fabric that stops almost all light coming through. It suits bedrooms, nurseries and media rooms, and anyone who sleeps in after a Gold Coast sunrise.

Light-filtering fabric
Soft light and daytime privacy.
A translucent fabric that lets daylight through while hiding the room from outside during the day. It suits living areas, kitchens and bathrooms.

Sunscreen fabric
Cut the glare, keep the view.
An open-weave fabric that cuts glare and heat while you still see out to the garden. It suits west-facing living areas and rooms with a view, though a lit room is easy to see into at night.
Bedrooms
Blockout
Stops the early sun and street lights. Add a sunscreen blind in front with a double roller for daytime.

Four simple parts. Made to measure.
A roller blind has very few parts, so each one has to be right. Here is what goes into every blind we make.

Blockout, filtering or sunscreen
The fabric is cut square to the millimetre so it rolls straight and does not drift to one side. We bring the full fabric range to your measure so you can see each one at your window.

Every room in the house
Chain or motor
A continuous chain raises and lowers the blind and is fixed to the wall with a tensioner, so there is no loose loop. Any blind can be motorised instead.

Recess or face-fit brackets
Recess fit sits inside the window reveal for a clean finish. Face fit goes over the reveal to cover the whole window and block more light at the edges.

Send us a photo of the window and tell us what the room is used for, and we will suggest a fabric before we visit.
See all questionsBlockout or light filtering: which do I need?
Blockout fabrics stop almost all light, so they suit bedrooms and media rooms. Light-filtering and sunscreen fabrics soften glare and keep rooms bright while giving daytime privacy, which suits living areas. A double roller gives you both on one window.
Recess fit or face fit?
Recess fit sits inside the window reveal and looks neat. Face fit sits over the reveal and blocks more light at the edges, which is better for blockout rooms. We check the depth of each reveal at the measure.
Are your blinds child safe?
Blinds with chains must meet the mandatory Australian safety standard for corded internal window coverings. We fit the chain tensioner to the wall on the day, and we can recommend motorised blinds for children’s rooms.
Can blinds be motorised later?
Often, yes. Many roller blinds can take a motor later, especially if a power point or room for a battery motor is planned in. Tell us at the measure and we will choose brackets and fabrics that allow for it.
How long does installation take?
Your blinds are made two to three weeks after you accept the written quote. Most blinds take 15 to 20 minutes each to fit.
How do I clean roller blinds?
Dust or vacuum them with a soft brush every few weeks, and spot clean marks with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid soaking the fabric or using solvents.
